Ofgem determination resulted in significant investment into electricity infrastructure across the 3 DNO licence areas, whilst continuing to build the electricity infrastructure for the 2012 London Olympics.
Projects comprised of new tunnels under London and the Thames being constructed, new substations being built in the heart of the West End and City of London, new cable routes being installed in tunnels/open cut and new transformer/switchgear replacement with associated construction works.
High profile projects combined with an interest from the public resulted in a new commercial function being developed and a more rigid delivery operating model being established. The commercial team grew to 36 FTE, with NEC3 contracts being created, commercial and project management processes being created and shift in culture being introduced via constructive challenge being posed to new Tier 1 Partners.
